The platform in which a person comes to your website
There are three platforms: desktop, mobile, and tablet. Going “mobile” is a big shift in today’s technological paradigm, and it can be costly to make your site “responsive.” Taking a look at these numbers will help you determine the best course of action to take with your website. You should always have a mobile user in mind when building a website, but if you find that more than 75% of people view your site from their desktop, then it might not be worth the investment until that number dips below the 75% threshold. Many sites have seen almost 50-50 splits between mobile and desktop, so being phone-optimized can be preferred. You can also ignore the “tablet” portion. Tablets are like desktops anyway and if your website was of designed correctly, then it will work just fine on a tablet.
