When Apple released the latest version of their mobile operating system, iOS 9, a short time ago they introduced a new feature that’s sent the marketing industry into a bit of a tizzy. iPhone/iPad users will now have the option to block ads from appearing during their mobile web browsing experience. For websites that run ads, this means less revenue because less eyeballs will be on the ads. As the shift to mobile continues to increase, you could see why this would be a problem.

We recently published an eBook, Google Analytics for Managers, to help people who don’t quite understand what Google Analytics is get a grasp of its basic concepts. While an eBook is great and you can read it and learn, but what about when you forget something and you don’t really have time to go dig up that eBook to go look up the information?
It's all to often that I go on meetings to talk with prospective clients about their website and we get to the analytics part and they just have no clue what I'm talking about. I mention "Google Analytics" and most of the time I get a puzzled look or a "yeah I think we have it, but I don't know what it is." Those experiences prompted me to write Cowley Associates' first eBook, "Google Analytics for Managers."
What Does Google Hummingbird Mean for My Business?

In August of 2013, Google started using a new search algorithm called “Hummingbird.” When this change was announced a month later, it spun the marketing world on its head and forced the industry to rethink how it approaches SEO. Google Hummingbird favors “conversational search,” which can decipher the context of your search rather than just pick out keywords on which to base its results.

Call it insomnia, a crazy passion for internet marketing and/or blogging, and/or all of the above but I am officially staying up all night to get work done and decided to open up the magic “Blog Ideas” list I have for Cowley and am going to try to take down all 27 on the list before the sun comes up. Don’t worry; I’m not doing any illegal drugs, just massive amounts of coffee. I’m gonna sleep great tomorrow night.

I got this interesting email today from my VP. It was a list of the 100 “Oldest .COM Domains” on the web. I was intrigued to know who the “oldest fogie on the web" was and when he was “born.”
It’s Symbolics.com, created – get this – on the Ides of March (Google it) “in the year of our Lord 1985” (good year [big smile]).
