Gail and I had the recent pleasure of speaking at the 2016 BizBuzz Social Media Conference here in Syracuse. It was amazing to see the turnout and support here in the local community for such interesting topics in the digital space. I'd like to give a special thank you to the team over at Sky Armory who not only invited us to speak, but put on the event and produced such world-class food. Plate after plate was delicious with my personal favorite of those beef tacos and truffle fries. Highly recommended!
In case you missed it, Instagram now allows users to post full-size landscape and portrait photos removing the restriction photos be only square. In the early days of the app, Instagram went with only square photos to distinguish itself from the competition. But, as the app has grown and its user base exceed 300 million, they found that round pegs needed to fit in their square holes.

Facebook has announced that beginning in January it will again be slashing the amount of organic reach a business’ Facebook Page will have. The social media conglomerate says that through a survey they ran, respondents wanted to “see more stories from friends and Pages they care about, and less promotional content.” So, in response, if Facebook feels that a business’ content is “too promotional,” they won’t let many people see it.
