Cowley’s Christmas Charity
You can already hear Christmas music on the radio and even though we haven’t seen Salvation Army volunteers ringing bells outside grocery stores yet, it is always in season to give. One Monday MeetingIn addition to being a marketing genius, Paul Cowley – our creative director and CEO – has a big heart and great ideas to go with it. Paul arrived at our weekly production meeting a few weeks ago with a shoebox for everyone. “Times are hard but we all should be grateful for the fact that we have jobs and a lot of people have nothing,” he said. He handed us each a brochure from Samaritan’s Purse, a charitable organization that sends relief to the poor and needy throughout the world. Every year they organize “Operation: Christmas Child” – a program that sends Christmas packages to destitute children in third world countries. Operation: Christmas ChildThe cover of the brochure spoke for itself: it showed two little boys, skinny as rails, with the biggest smiles on their faces after receiving their own little boxes of Christmas toys and goodies. Gail Cowley, Paul’s wife and Executive VP, collected our boxes and brought them to the local drop off in preparation for the coming sleigh ride. Samaritan’s Purse offers online tracking which we have signed up for. My daughter Haylee helped me prepare mine and is excited to see how her box makes a young girl happy. Pay It ForwardSo what is your office doing this Christmas to help others? Post pictures on our Facebook page or Twitter to share the giving spirit. Let’s inspire every business in our cities to do a little something extra this holiday season to help those in need. Have a great holiday season everyone from Cowley Associates!
